It has been a while.

So the other day I was reviewing my deviantart stuff and realised that I had not updated my journal in over half a year. do-de-do.... Here is a brief update. I finished school last April- everything went well. I took a spring printmaking class at the University of Calgary. This class was taken for credit, for a drawing class at ACAD. The class went well, and I realised the vaste difference between art at ACAD and the University. The class was a breese. After that I worked my ass off saving up for a wonderful trip to San Fransisco, with Kaylee. My trip to San Fran was at the end of August and lasted about a week. Just prior to going to San Fran, I had the opportunity to make it out to Penticton to visit my Granny and her llamas. It was all good fun.

San Fran was amazing! I had never been on a plane before, it was an awesome experience. Kaylee and I were a little scared at first since we had never taken such a trip without the parental units. I remeber getting off the plane, ambling down the airport and turning to Kaylee with the utter thought of, 'what are we doing?' Eventually we figured things out and in doing so became quite the intrepide travelers.

Aside from traveling and working my summer consisted of a variety of crazy photo shoots with Kaylee. Most were deemed 'learning experiences' but all in all we got a few good shots. Justin and I have started going to art central every first Thursday of the month. On these Thursdays Art central has awhole bunch of gallery openings and fun stuff happening. If you are looking for a little 'art community' endever, then that is the place to be. For all those interested, the upcoming Thursday event(Nov. 2) will be the 3rd birthday of Art Central. On this date the Wearable art class that I took last year will be putting on thier fashion show. It is going to be a crazy night.

School has been great so far. I have my own studio this year and it is fucking amazing. I am in there most days till 10 or 11pm. My schedule has been hectic and I have not had alot of time to see most people. *tear* Hopefully we can all get together soon....Speaking of which, my birthday is coming up(Nov. 19). I don't have any sure plans yet, but it falls on a Sunday this year. We will probably go out to a pub Saturday evening, this way when the clock srtikes midnight, we will all be tipsy enough to have an excellent time....or something like that. I will give updates as the weeks progress. For all those planning to go. Please book off November 18 and 19 off work!!!! Talk to you all soon! ;)

Devious Journal Entry

Well, I don't have too much to say, but I really wanted to have two journal entries in...such a short span. Ooh, it's so uncharateristc of me.

The event that I was talking about in my last journal entry(which was 4 days ago!!!!) is called Metalmorphosis. It's a gallery opening/party thing. From March 6th to the 10th i think it's just a gallery opening for the jewlery department. the night of the 10th is when the party is happening. What I last heard was that there is going to be a contest during this party for metal pieces inspired by certain fairytales. Note that these are different pieces from the gallery opening during the week. I am quite excited to see what comes out of that. I know so really talented people that are submitting. As far as I know people are going to dress up all fancy-ish and I think that you will have to bring/wear a mask. I haven't heard anything about tickets, so I am going to say that there is no cover charge.

Wow, I totally forgot that it was Valentine's Day. Oops, oh well.

Devious Journal Entry

Holy Crap! I have not updated my journal since April 2005...I am not lazy...just artistic!1!!

Here I am sitting at one of the computers, convintiantly placed right beside the smoking staircase.(oops, I am not supposed to say that...our school is a smoke free environment ;)) Personally I think that they should enforce that rule a little better. They tried this year but quickly dropped it when they realised that the non-smoking people were the minority and would die horrible deaths if they tried to enforce the law. Needless to say, the second hand smoke is probably the least likely thing to kill you here. Charcoal dust and spray fixative will mostlikely get you first. Things are lookin' good for the future; I love that I am so opptimistic.
Anyways, I have just finished one of the craziest weeks I have had so far. No teacher should expect you to hand in slides! I am an art student, I don't have that kind of money. Umm, that is all I have to say on that.

Oh, new favorite song = Fair by Remy Zero. I am completely enthralled with it. Oh, Gardenstate I love the movie/soundtrack/everything!

There is a giant metal/jewlery event coming up. It's going to be a masquerade(sp?) party, I am so excited. I will update soon with details. Reply if interested.

Talk to yous all soon.
